Overview
MyAuditions
Chat is a synchronous activity, which occurs in
real-time. Participants in online chat sessions type messages
and those messages are instantly displayed for recipients
of the messages, thus enabling a live discussion between disparate groups.
Logging In
Both registered members and non-registered visitors may participate in
celebrity events. Members may either login then access the chat event or
simply enter a guest name when prompted to do so when accessing the chat
event. Visitors need only to enter their guest name upon accessing the chat
event.
Only registered forum
members have access to any other available chat rooms offered by MyAuditions.
Launch your browser.
Go to
http://myauditions.com/groupee/chat and click
on "Celebrity Chat." Login or enter your guest name when
prompted. Wait approximately 15-20 seconds
before a connection is made to the chat room. If
accessing other available chat rooms, login/registration is required.
Doors Open
The moderator and celebrity will login to the chat room 15-30 minutes prior to opening the doors. This will allow the
moderator to walk through the application and assist the celebrity in becoming
familiar with the chat features. So, prior to the doors opening you may see
two users within the celebrity chat room (the celebrity and the moderator).
Doors open 10 minutes
prior to the event. However,
we
do reserve the right to disconnect all chat participants prior to a
scheduled chat event to give everyone an equal chance of attending.
Time
All times take place in North America Eastern Standard
Time zones. Unless otherwise indicated, the start
time of the events begin at 7pm EST and end at 8pm EST.
Audience
Seating is limited to 50 participants. If you see that the chat room already
has 50 participants, it has reached its maximum limit and you will not be
able to enter the room until another participant leaves.
Moderator
Celebrity Chat is a moderated event.
All questions will be pre-screened by the
moderator and the moderator and celebrity decide which questions to post
publicly and respond to.
We reserve the right to limit access or moderate the forum as we see fit.
Silencing
An ignore feature is provided with a
silence button. To stop receiving messages from
someone in a chat room, select the person's screen name in the field that
lists everyone in the chat room and click Silence. An X appears next to the
selected screen name and their text will no longer appear on your screen.
Kicking
The moderator bans a participant from the chat room.
Browser version
The chat room only works with Internet Explorer,
Netscape, Firefox and Mozilla. Chat does not
support the Opera Web browser at this time.
Language
The official language of MyAuditions and its chat rooms is English.
Questions posted in other languages will not be accepted.
Personal Information
Never give out private information openly in a chat: passwords, credit card
details, drivers license, numbers, home address etc.
Chat Etiquette
Treat our celebrity artists with respect. It's
fine to ask the tough questions, but if you are abusive or disrespectful to
our guests, you will be bounced and barred from returning to that scheduled
chat event. We have a zero tolerance policy on this. To be assured that we
can continually bring you the best artists, we need to be sure that our
artists have a pleasant experience.
Remember, celebrities take time out of their busy schedule to participate
and offer their advice so they are appear for your benefit.
Chat Logs
We have the ability to log chats and will also log all our
scheduled chat events for later publication on
MyAuditions . This will allow everyone to view the transcript of the
chat events.
General Rules
Please do not type in all CAPITAL LETTERS. This is difficult to read and is
interpreted as shouting by many readers.
Crude or offensive nicknames will be bounced at the administrator's
discretion. You may return once a more appropriate nickname is selected.
Forging a chat guest's identity will get you banned. Forging or otherwise
misrepresenting yourself in any way may also get your banned at the
administrator's discretion. Remember, you are not anonymous to the
administrators.
Chat forum administrators have final discretion in all matters. Their
decisions are final.
We encourage you to be responsible and to respect our community as well as
others participating within the community. Your conduct should be guided by
common sense, basic "netiquette", and these chat guidelines.
We discourage any of the following activity that:
Repeatedly uses language inconsistent with the community standards of the
area from which the chat originated.
Impedes or otherwise prohibits communication; disrupts the discussion
including, without limitation, using screen names in topical chats that are
offensive to the topic and repeatedly posting off-topic comments in a
topical chat.
Contains highly explicit or graphic descriptions or accounts of sexual acts,
including but not limited to sexual language of a violent or threatening
nature, directed at another individual or group of individuals, particularly
when unsolicited.
Contains vulgarities directed toward another individual or group.
Depicts violence in a gratuitous manner, without journalistic or artistic
merit, primarily intended to agitate or cause emotional distress.
Is intended to victimize, harass, degrade or intimidate an individual or
group of individuals on the basis of age, disability, ethnicity, gender,
race, religion or sexual orientation. Hate speech is unacceptable anywhere
on the service.
Solicits personal information from a minor (under 18 years old). Personal
information includes full name, home address, home telephone number, or
other identifying information that would enable "offline" contact.
Contains or facilitates the transfer of software viruses or any other
computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the
functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications
equipment.
Contains material that defames, abuses, threatens, promotes, or instigates
physical harm or death to others, or oneself.
Is illegal or incites illegal activity, such as instructional information on
how to build a bomb and/or make counterfeit money.
Solicits for exchange, sale or purchase of sexually explicit images, and/or
material harmful to minors; including, but not limited to, any photograph,
film, video, or picture or computer generated image or picture (actual or
simulated).
Infringes anyone else's intellectual property rights, including, but not
limited to, any copyright, trademark, rights of publicity, rights of
privacy, or other proprietary rights.
Attempts to harvest or collect member information, including screen names.
Impersonates or represents any person or entity in an attempt to deceive,
harass or otherwise mislead another member. You may not pretend to be an
employee or representative of MyAuditions, Inc. or
its affiliates.
Attempts to get a password, or other private information from a user.
Remember: MyAuditions employees will NEVER ask for your password.
Links to and/or references content not allowed under these guidelines.
Otherwise uses the service in a manner deemed inappropriate by
MyAuditions.
Safety First
It is important to remember safety while online. Always use caution
when providing any personal information about yourself anywhere online. It's
also a good rule-of-thumb to check the Privacy Policies of any unfamiliar or
new web sites you visit. When communicating in a chat room be mindful that
many people will be able to view it and the inclusion of information such as
your name, your address or telephone number is never recommended.
